Saginaw Rozzo – Composer & Organist
Artistic Bio
Saginaw Rozzo is a rising American composer and organist known for his extraordinary ability to create authentic Baroque and Renaissance-style compositions as well as contemporary works for symphony and chamber orchestras.
His musical journey began at the age of four, studying piano at Yamaha Music School, and soon expanded into trumpet, orchestral conducting, and advanced music theory at the Colburn Conservatory of Music under the mentorship of Dr. Kathy Sawada.
Saginaw’s compositions have been performed in prestigious venues across Los Angeles. His recent a cappella choral work, Quia In Hoc Ipsum Excitavi, set to the Latin text of Romans 9:17, premiered at the First Congregational Church of Los Angeles on May 4, 2025, with Saginaw singing alongside the Laude Cathedral Choir. In collaboration with organ virtuoso Dr. Christoph Bull (UCLA), Saginaw’s A Close Path and A Hymn for the Great Creator, both composed in Baroque style, were performed on the Church’s historic pipe organ in 2024 and 2025.
At just nine years old, Saginaw composed Lilacram, a deeply expressive solo for pipe organ in the tradition of J.S. Bach, which is now in rehearsal for performance by Dr. Bull. His orchestral piece Heroic Piece: Enchanted Forest was conducted by Dr. Paul Sherman (UCLA) and performed by the Glendale Symphony Orchestra in April 2024. Most recently, he completed a new Baroque-style chamber orchestral composition, now being rehearsed by Musica Angelica Chamber Orchestra under the direction of its Austrian Maestro Dr. Martin Haselböck, performed on instruments over 200 years old.
Saginaw has been recognized with the U.S. Church Pipe Organ Association Educational Scholarship (2018–2020) and won the California J.S. Bach Piano Competition (2017). He is a member of the U.S. Church Pipe Organ Association and is currently working on new choral music for the First Congregational Church choir and developing a collaborative performance with Native American cultural groups for Thanksgiving 2025.
Saginaw’s deep connection to historical music forms, combined with his fresh and emotional compositional voice, positions him as one of the most distinctive young composers of his generation.
Saginaw J Rozzo is 20 years young now.
